March is National Nutrition Month and there’s no better way to celebrate eating healthy than by exploring all of the great farmer’s markets in Atlanta. Shopping fresh and local not only helps improve your overall health and wellness, but it also supports the community and keeps farmers competitive against big stores and chains. The fruits and vegetables you buy at the farmers market are the freshest and tastiest available because there is no shipping and freezing involved. It’s straight from the farm to the market to your table!

Piedmont Park Green Market

The newest market to Atlanta is the Piedmont Park Green Market. It opens at the end of the month, on March 28th, 2020 and will be located in Piedmont Park every Saturday until November. Here you can expect to enjoy everything from local fruits and veggies, to artisan goods like jams, honey, pastries, and body products. They will also have live music and plenty of ready to eat vendors like Crepe Masters, Low-Co Motion, and Burgor LLC. Check out the full vendor list here. They are only about 10 minutes from Broadstone Midtown, so rain or shine start planning your Saturdays to be spent shopping here!

Ponce City Market and Ponce City Farmers Market

Our go-to Atlanta market for Tuesday nights is the Ponce City Farmers Market. It’s located under “The Shed” on the BeltLine entrance of Ponce City Market. They are open seasonally on Tuesdays evenings and plan to re-open for 2020 on April 14th. This market is more touristy but has some of the best Atlanta food talent, local produce, and artisan goods. It is fully organic and many of the growers and chefs practice sustainability methods. While this market is primarily attended by pedestrians and cyclists, there is free one-hour parking in front of Mountain High Outfitters. Just use the code FARMERS2018! Check out their full list of vendors here.

Grant Park Farmers Market

Voted Best Farmers Market in Creative Loafing and Atlanta Magazine, Grant Park Farmers Market is a great pet and family-friendly market that is open nearly all year round. Primarily opened on Sundays, their winter market is located at Eventide Brewery until March 29th, and their main market opens April 5th, 2020. This market has some of the best locally-grown veggies, meats, breads, and artisanal foods around. It’s located in the historic Grant Park, and they have a partnership with The Grant Park Conservancy. They have free parking as well, on Cherokee Avenue, so keep your Sundays free!
