December is a month that is filled to the brim with holiday activities, Christmas pageants, family get-togethers, and more. The joyous season is a time of feel-good movies, traditional stories, and of course, great music! This month, Atlanta has plenty to offer in the way of holiday music. Here are some musical events to get you in the spirit and fill your heart with joy!
A Merry Ole Christmas
Pull out your top hats and furs and get ready for a time warp back to Merry Olde England. The Festival Singers of Atlanta will be transporting you to the Dickensian era with traditional English carols and choral pieces. The a cappella sounds will ring off the walls and fill your heart. For those who are fans of a classical Christmas, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Showtime is December 2nd.
Join Chabad Intown for Menorah lightings, music, dreidels, and more during the week of Chanukah. Whether you are Jewish or just interested, all are welcome at these events to celebrate the holidays!
Christmas With the Symphony
Take in an evening with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as they continue a Christmas tradition that has been running for many years. They’ll be playing all your favorite Christmas classics, along with special guests like the Gwinnett Young Singers and the Morehouse College Glee Club.
A Very Pop Christmas
Not all Christmas concerts this year will be quite so traditional. Lovers of pop music can get their fill of fun at two huge events: Power 96.1’s Jingle Ball and Star 94.1’s Jingle Jam. That’s a whole lot of Jingling! The Jingle Ball, held at State Farm Arena, will feature Calvin Harris, G-Eazy, and Sabrina Carpenter and the headliner will be singer/songwriter Shawn Mendez. The Jingle Jam is going to be going down at the coca-Cola Roxy. Concert goers will get to see Brynn Elliott, Jesse McCartney, and headliners O.A.R. Tickets to both will go fast, so get yours early!
Whatever your musical tastes, there is a holiday show for you this December in Atlanta! If you go to one of these fun events, let us know how it was on Facebook or Instagram. And be sure to follow our blog here for more Atlanta events!
