Summer in Atlanta can be outrageously hot and humid. It seems like no matter what you do, most of the day will be spent in sweat and discomfort. One of the best ways to beat the heat is by heading to the nearest swimming hole and dive in! At Broadstone Midtown, we have a luxurious, crystal clear rooftop pool for our residents. But we realize not everyone is so lucky. We found the best places around Atlanta to jump in and stay cool this summer.

Piedmont Park Aquatic Center

Atlantans have been swimming in Piedmont Park for over 100 years now, ever since the original Piedmont Park Bathhouse back in 1911. These days, the facility has become a much more modern and fun splash zone. The gigantic pool offers multiple zones with differing depths so swimmers of all ages can feel safe and have a great time. They also have dedicated lanes for serious swimmers, as well as adult only hours for those who don’t want to deal with horseplay. In between swims, you can relax on the large pool deck or shaded lawn with a snack and drink from the concession stand.

Swimmerman Swim School

If you are new to swimming or just not confident in your abilities yet, check out the Swimmerman Swim School. They offer classes for all ages and skill levels, so anyone from infants to elderly can learn to swim. Many people suffer from a fear of water, and learning to swim can help conquer that fear. It is all about equipping you with the skills to feel safe in any depth. They also offer a swim team for those who want to enjoy the sport in a fun and competitive environment!

Six Flags White Water

Nothing says “summer” like a trip to a water park! If you are willing to journey OTP for a day of fun, head up to Marietta for a wet and wild day at Six Flags White Water. Experience the thrill of shooting down a long and winding water slide, or ride the waves in the 700,000 gallon wave pool! Kids will have a jolly time splashing around in Buccanneer Bay or the Captain Kid’s Cove. Plan to spend the entire day, because there is plenty to keep you busy.

If you are looking to keep cool this summer, these watery fun zones should be your first stop! Keep following our blog here for more Atlanta activities.
